NAPA and AutoVitals Join Forces for Next Gen Techs

 

A New Addition to the Techs of Tomorrow Initiative

When Richard R. Borra with O’Shea Tire & Service Center approached NAPA and AutoVitals to help him out with his local NY BOCES school, we were immediately in. Or as Richard put it

“Helping this program will go a long way producing Tech’s and point them to AutoCare Shops. Within the last two years, I have recruited two techs from this program. Our involvement works for both, the school and our shop. The techs are super motivated paying it forward.”

How Does the Program Work?

As a member of the NAPA AutoCare Program, Richard and his crew use the Digital Vehicle Inspection service, a tablet-based  product, which creates inspection results visible to motorists by email or print.

They can see what the techs see when working on their vehicle and get educated about the best course of action. The DVI is available to all NAPA Auto Care Centers. Once the NAPA AutoCare Center informs AutoVitals that they want to help out their local school or college, we create a new DVI account for them, which will then be tied to the NAPA AutoCare center’s account and can be accessed by both, the shop and the school. Technicians of the shop help the students to start with digital tools and teach them best practices of how to use them.
