 One of the best ways to gauge one’s standings is the comparison with the best of the best.

It helps managing expectations and often achieving absolute perfection may be impossible and so, as increasing effort results in diminishing returns, further activity becomes increasingly inefficient.

Comparing your own Business KPIs with the best in the network allows you to apply the 80/20 rule of effectiveness. It commonly takes 20% of the full time to complete 80% of a task while to complete the last 20% of a task takes 80% of the effort. Work smart instead of hard is another way to put it.
